header.php Meta Name Keywords

  • I have the main theme, and the Child. In the main theme, I inserted directly into the header.php the meta name “keywords” but after the insertion, the keywords do not appear in Ranking Coaching, 100 Security, etc … It is as if the keywords did not exist. Can anybody help me ? Did I do something wrong ?

  • Hello there,

    Editing main theme’s files isn’t recommended because you’ll have a problem when updating in the future — all files are wiped out and replaced with fresh ones.

    To add extra meta tags to your site’s header, you can use a plugin like YOAST SEO.

    I edited the child theme through the file manager. I had YOAST and even then the key words were not showing up. I switched to All In One SEO, and it still does not show up.

    Inspecting the source code of your site, I noticed there’s active site caching. Please always clear/flush it when applied some changes. Otherwise your site won’t load newer version for particular amount of time.
