Change my Home Page Layout?

I don’t like the layout of my Home Page on my new blog (www.seemomteach.com). I use a custom template called Abstract. I would like my blog posts to be laid out more like this: https://www.thehomeschoolingblog.com/, and not sectioned like it is now. Any ideas? I am brand new to blogging and word press, so please be gentle.
