search text should disappear on typing

  • Hello Hueman theme team,

    This is regarding the search string text which appears when you click the search button on the menu. Ideally, when I start typing, the default text “To search type and hit enter” should disappear. However, it does not. So the users have an extra task of selecting the text and deleting it, before typing in. I suggest tweaking this issue in the next update.

    Hello,
    I can reproduce the problem on your site. But I can’t reproduce it on my test site or on the demo.
    The theme uses the core WP way to render search form : get_search_form()

    I would recommend to follow the usual troubleshooting tips :

    1. Use the latest software versions : make sure the theme and WordPress are up to date.
    2. Try to switch to another theme like the default WP theme to see if it the issue is due to Hueman or to another cause.
    3. Cache plugin : if you are using a server cache or cache plugin, please clear it’s cache content and disable caching via it’s settings.
    4. Browser : clear your browser’s cache / history
    5. Deactivate your child theme if you are using one.
    6. Check for plugin conflict : deactivate all of your plugins. If it fixes the issue, re-activate your plugins one by one, until you identify the plugin in conflict.
