About half way down the page it shows a News section in the right white section. I’ve verified the feed source and viewed the feed items list, there are 5 items in there which is correct. I’m calling things in with the shortcode [wp-rss-aggregator pagination=”on” limit=”5″ ]. I’ve tried removing the options, still the same result.

I don’t see any related errors in the nginx logs or the rss aggregator logs. There is no cache plugin installed.

Something is not making sense .. the settings are as follows:
Limit feed items stored by age is set to 365
Limit feed items stored per feed: 35

It was working (somewhat, but definitely inconsistently) a few weeks ago.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • I have the same problem! From the admin I can see that all the feeds have been imported correctly, it seems that the only problem is that the front-end does not show it.

By the way, we’ve already seen the url https://kb.wprssaggregator.com/article/360-q-why-do-i-get-no-feed-items-found-when-i-insert-the-shortcode-on-a-page-or-post and everything seems fine, even so we see “No feed items found.”.

    Hey @jvhost2013 and @ejavier,

Your issues may have the same cause and they may not. Either way, let’s see if we can get to the bottom of this. We know that the plugin is currently working from our tests, so I’d like to check a few other things first and foremost.

Can you both please contact me directly on [email protected] (ask for Mark) and send me screenshots of the following:

    – The Edit Feed Source page for a source you’re sure is working
    – The Feed Items list page
    – The Edit Page view of the page where the shortcode is placed

I’ll then follow up here with the findings once we sort the issues out. I’d rather we use direct emails since not everyone likes sharing screenshots of their sites in a public forum.

Same problem here. It works again after downgrading the plugin.

    Hi guys,

Through process of elimination, my problem turned out to be a plugin conflict with Polylang. As soon as I deactivated Polylang everything started working perfectly.

Thanks to support for your help!

    (@markzahra)

@jvhost2013 thanks for the update! Do you have any info on what the conflict was exactly? We’d like to take a look at what happened to see if there’s something we can do about it.

@psychosopher please open a separate thread and send us some details of your setup along with exactly what’s happening for you.

@markzahra I wish I had more time to look at it as well but unfortunately I don’t. All I was able to figure out is when I deactivated Polylang, it started working. One piece of the puzzle might be that it works fine at first together (which seemed to be the case), but once new posts were added (in our case it was English only), that’s when things started dying. I didn’t try creating a French version of a post which may have affected it. In the end my customer didn’t need Polylang because they were only using English so I didn’t have to troubleshoot further.

    Thanks, John

No worries, John, I understand. Could you just let us know what was happening when you say “started dying”?

Similar problem here, and I do not use Polylang.

My feed links only show, when I am logged in. When logged out, I get ‘No feed items found’. I use the shortcode [wp-rss-aggregator]

I have not tried to deactivate plugins yet.

    (@markzahra)

Hi Lars, please open a new thread since it would be a different issue then the originally reported one here.

If you can test for conflicts it could give us a better idea of what’s going on. Since we know the plugin to work fine, this would most likely be caused by something like that.

    Hello,

It seems that we are in the same situation. Since version 4.12.3 we have a message “No items found” on the public pages while in the admin we have all our items.
I have tested all new versions since but I have to stay on the 4.12.2 in production.

We use Polylang and when I disable it the items will appear again in front. We can not do without Polylang, it is used throughout the site, so I could test only on a local development version.

The problem persists whether we are logged in or not.

We also use your plugin “Excerpts and Thumbnails”. I avoid turning it on / off because I lose all our archives each time (we have more than 400 items)

Thank you for your help !

I have the same issue. When I deactivate PolyLang it works. Is there any solution to this in sight?

    Plugin Author Mark Zahra

    (@markzahra)

Hey folks, given that, in most cases, the issue disappears once you deactivate Polylang, we’ll be looking into a possible plugin conflict that might be causing this issue to happen.

Is there any news regarding the plugin conflict with Polylang?

Actually there is no conflict between plugins. The problem is that PlolyLang defines the language for each Custom Post Type. In order to display entries, in the menu PlolyLang – Settings->Custom post types and Taxonomies, you must select Custom Post Type or Taxonomy.

The problem is that in WP RSS Aggregator feed item is not defined as Custom Post Type.

The only, though not correct, solution was to change the WP RSS Aggregator code. I registered action after the feed item entry line in the DB – $inserted_ID = wp_insert_post ($feed_item).
Next, in the functions.php file of the current theme using action in the callback function, I set the default language for the feed item using the PolyLang function – pll_set_post_language($post_id, $lang)
