Resource Heavy

  • Hello, how resource heavy is this plugin normally.

    We have a 4GB VPS and it sits at around 1.7GB usage without this plugin enabled.

    After enabling this plugin (which is fantastic by the way) we are maxing out very quickly on our ram usage.

    Really good plugin, it’s just a shame right now we can use it effectively.

    Is this normal behaviour

    Hi dottydirectory,

    This is not normal behaviour at all, I run this on multiple WordPress sites on a couple of 2GB VPS and it runs perfectly, it uses less than 140KB. I would assume this is an issue with your particular environment or setup but I am unable to diagnose this any further with the information I have.

    No worries, you didn’t do anything wrong. You just didn’t know.

    Start easy: install the Health Check plugin.

    It can provide a metric ton of info about your site that may help the author pinpoint if some dependency isn’t right version wise or just missing.

    It’s also has a troubleshooting mode that will let you disabled all plugins and switch your theme to Twenty Nineteen just for your logged in session. That way you can test without impacting any other visitor to your site. That lets you re-enable this plugin, test, re-enable another one, test, etc. And your visitors will still see your fully enabled plugin/theme site.

    @dottydirectory you have WP Super Cache installed

    WP Super Cache: by Automattic – 1.6.4

    Unfortunately at this time the block on specific pages/posts does not work with caching plugins due to the way caching plugins work, they serve a static version of the site pages to visitors and this happens ahead of where the Proxy & VPN Blocker Plugin would be able to interact with the visitor.

    You can experiment with Late Init in some caching plugins, WP Super Cache has this under Advanced in its settings

    I don’t see anything relating to why the resource usage would be high in your system status however.

    @dottydirectory I got a bit mixed up and thought this was relating to another support question that’s open recently about blocking on specific pages. My bad!

    No I don’t think this would cause RAM issues.
