Adding to existing database with myPhpAdmin

Name the WordPress tables as wp_ . Yes, it’s possible to install WordPress to existing database.

There’s so many files, I’m not sure which ones I need to add to the database.

Just put your existing database information (name, user, password, host) in the wp-config.php and the WordPress install.php will create the necessary tables.

I have done this and all seems to be working.

Can’t see any tables in the database though. Assume this is normal and if the blog works, all is set up ok.

You should be able to see the tables.

Make sure you are looking in the right place.
