• Hi support team,

Today I upgraded wpDiscuz to version 5.3.2. I was hoping that this release would fix the problem below. Unfortunately that’s not the case.

Will you solve the cookie problen in Chrome in a next release?

    Thanks for your swift reply.

I do not understand that Google Chrome shows old cookies. I thought cookies were initiated by a website and not by a browser. Anyway, I am glad to read that this issue will be fixed in the next release of wpDiscuz! Thanks!

    Hi Marco,

    Thank you for contacting us.

This is specific for google. It shows the cookies that were used before. No other browsers show these cookies.

However, in the next version release, this problem will be also solved.

It does not relate to PHPSESSID. It’ll be used.

    Hi support team,

I reply by mail and not on the support forum because I want to share a screenshot with you (see attachment). I just made this screenshot.

Yesterday I upgraded wpDiscuz to version 5.3.0. After that I deleted all caches from WP Fastest Cache, I deleted all history and cookies from my Chrome browser.

Then I visited my site as a regular visitor using the Chrome browser. When I click on the small padlock in the browser Chrome really still detects the cookies wordpress_last_visit &
wpdiscuz_last_visit. The same this morning (see attached screenshot).

Maybe you can visit my site using Chrome as well and tell me if you see the two cookies as well. I really would appreciate that.

    Marco

    Hi @marco020,

Please refresh the page before checking. We’ve just tested on your website and there is neither wordpress_last_visit nor wpdiscuz_last_visit cookies. See screenshot:

We’re using default PHP – PHPSESSID cookie to provide high speed of wpDiscuz.

    Hi @marco020,

I apologize for the late response.

In general, this is not a wpDiscuz issue. The plugin uses the cookie js lib that sets this cookie. We’ll change this logic in the next version release. We’re going to get rid of this lib.

    That would be great! Thx!
