    Hello,

I have recently changed my site URL from https://www.backpackingseries.com to https://www.unakriti.com

WP Follow Button: Since the move, Jetpack is behaving strange. For instance, the debug option says ‘everything looks A-okay’ but the WordPress follow button has disappeared from the site. When I try to generate a new follow button (for the new URL https://www.unakriti.com) it throws up an error – “Please check you’ve entered the address of a WordPress.com or Jetpack-powered site and try again.”

Slow Jetpack Dashboard: The other thing is even though site stats, email subscribers, and WP followers are shown in the dashboard, it takes relatively longer to load the stats or the debug page. Besides, Akismet shows 0 spam blocked (old stats are not shown).

New eMail ID for Jetpack Connection: I tried to change the connected email ID too from the old to a new one. But then reverted – hoping to fix these issues. But it hasn’t worked. Ideally, I would like to change the eMail ID for Jetpack connection but without losing stats, email subscribers, or WP followers. Is it a straightforward thing to disconnect Jetpack and connect using a new new eMail or do i need to prep the site in any way?

Can someone please help / advise?

    Thank you for your support.

    Kind regards,

    Hi there,

When I try to generate a new follow button (for the new URL https://www.unakriti.com) it throws up an error – “Please check you’ve entered the address of a WordPress.com or Jetpack-powered site and try again.”

I checked debug, and it looks like although Jetpack is connected, the JSON API module hasn’t been turned on. If you can you please turn it on via your dashboard:

    https://www.unakriti.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=jetpack_modules

You’ll have to access our full list of modules by following the guide here:

    https://jetpack.com/support/control-jetpacks-modules-on-one-page/

I would like to change the eMail ID for Jetpack connection but without losing stats, email subscribers, or WP followers.

Okay, sounds like there is another WordPress.com and associated email that you want to transfer your Jetpack Connection to? If so, you can first connect the other WordPress.com account with the updated email, by following instructions here:

    https://jetpack.com/support/connect-to-wordpress-com/

Then, you can follow the directions here to transfer the connection:

    https://jetpack.com/support/transfer-your-jetpack-connection-or-plan-to-another-user/.

Once you do this, see if speed is still an issue. We can look at how we can solve that issue if it persists.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.

    Hi @darnelldibbles

Thank you for the detailed response. I have no clue how JSON API got disabled after the URL change. The follow button started working after reactivating the module.

Following the guides, I have changed the eMail ID for Jetpack-WordPress.com connection and carried out a full sync. The subscribers and followers are intact.

However, site stats do not load up. Instead, a spinning wheel keeps showing up. Just to be clear, the overall admin dashboard performs well. However, Jetpack dashboard (where site stats are shown) is slow to load.

    Appreciate your advice.

    Kind regards,

    Hi @backpackingseries,

Oh, could you try disconnecting and reconnecting Jetpack to see whether the stats area starts loading afterwards? Or are you still seeing a spinner?

    Hi @gemmaevans

Thank you for the suggestion. Yes, I have tried a few times but without luck.

The thing is while the rest of the page (Jetpack Dashboard) loads up, Site Stats keeps spinning. If I navigate to another page and return, then site stats load up quicker.

Not sure what to make of this and whether it is a problem big enough to pursue. I am only doing so since the site had a URL change recently and just want to make sure everything is okay.

    Appreciate your guidance.

    Kind regards,

    Hi @backpackingseries,

Thanks for trying this. I checked to see whether stats for https://www.unakriti.com load through WordPress.com and they do — so it sounds like the issue may only be affecting stats in the WP Admin dashboard. Can you confirm this is the same on your side?

Would you also be able to try disabling all other plugins except Jetpack? If stats start working, that points to a plugin conflict — at which point I recommend reactivating one plugin at a time to see which one causes the problem.

Let me know how you get on.

    Hi @gemmaevans

Thank you for verifying everything looks good on WordPress.com.

Here’s another observation: Statistic graphs load up just fine on WordPress Dashboard (widget on welcome page) but spin forever only on the first visit to Jetpack Dashbaord. If I navigate someplace (say plugins page) and return, the Graphs show up normally (quick load)

The site just migrated and I am in the midst of testing all features. Jetpack’s features work well, and I will need to keep this (disabling plugins troubleshooting procedure) on low priority for now.

Really appreciate your guidance here. I will mark this as resolved and if necessary, open a new thread later.

    Kind regards,

    Hi @backpackingseries,

and I will need to keep this (disabling plugins troubleshooting procedure) on low priority for now

No problem, feel free to get in touch again if you have any questions after deactivating the other plugins ??
