How to add a sidebar?

  • I would like to add a sidebar in order to include a search widget in the listing page. The global sidebar does not appear. I already tried to customize the archive page template: I deleted the line in the archive-listings.php file that reads

    add_filter (‘equity_pre_get_option_site_layout’, ‘__equity_return_full_width_content’);

    and copied the file to the theme folder. It didn′t work. The theme is Rife Free. Can anyone help me solve this problem?
