• Hello

I noticed that the hosted WP site I support is showing an incorrect front page.
    1. It shows a forum index instead of the configured pages as the front page
    2. The forum index etc should not even be visible to non-logged in users but that is not the main issue here.
    3. If I edit the home page, I can see it s correct content but if I click the menu to get to the home page, I see the forum index. Seems that the home page is somehow incorrectly linked to the forum index page.
    4. I called the hosting support and they said that it is some theme corruption. I did try to create a child theme but have removed the child theme styler plugin etc.
    5. The staging instance is working correctly but is outdated so I don’t want to push it in prod. Is there anything I should look for in the staging instance for correct values?

    Thanks in advance

I was able to resolve this by deleting the home page and recreating it.

When I set the site home page to a different page, it showed correctly. Only when I set it to the home page it went to the forum index page instead of the home page, so it looked like a URL corruption.

Why the bbpress forum index page shows all the messages and replies to a non logged in user is still a mystery.
