Tried to install Wordfence on a website hosted with wpengine and got this notice:
“Wordfence is on our disallowed list and will result in sub-optimal performance for your environment.”
Since wpengine is gaining in popularity, how is this going to be addressed? I feel vulnerable without having this amazing plugin installed!

  • Hi @muldari,

I believe WP Engine has been firm on this decision since April 29th, 2014.

    https://wpengine.com/support/disallowed-plugins/

We have been in contact with them, and it seems that we’ve narrowed it down to one specific issue. (Internal Ref: #FB6963)

We’re currently still waiting on their development team to change something on their end so that Wordfence can be compatible. However, they have not provided us with an ETA.

    Thanks, Dave. Appreciate the info.

Hey there. Just wondering if there has been any progress on this issue.

There has been! We’ve resolved the platform compatibility issues that caused WF to be added to our disallowed list, but now need to remove it from our “reaper” that removes disallowed plugins from our platform. That work may already be complete, but I need to verify that with our engineering group before calling this one done. Almost there!
