Switching off Link descriptions?

I want to have my Link description appear when I hover but not as text after the link.

The screen text suggests the text is optional but I can’t see a way to switch it off..

“This will be shown when someone hovers over the link in the blogroll, or optionally below the link.”

Can you help?
