I can seem to save one of my templates that has been applied to 360000 variations. I was wondering if you had any advice on how I can overcome this

I have my own VPS on digital ocean, with 4GB ram, 1024 assigned to wordpress

My max inputs and execution times are 60000 seconds but the script ends with a 500 error from apache in around 10 minutes

    Cheeers

    Hello @albertramsbottom

If you get an error when WP-Lister is trying to apply the listing template to listings (after you switch the listing template option in the listing profile” you can try try visiting the “developer” page under WP-Lister’s settings and set the “Apply profiles in batches of” to 500 instead of 1000 and then try again. If it still does not work reduce it to 200 and try again. Continue reducing that setting until the process works. If it still does not work when set to “20” then you would have to contact your host to have them fix this problem since if your server cannot complete the process when updating listings in batches of 20, that would mean something is seriously not right with the performance of the server.

But also, we don’t offer support for users using WP-Lister with that many listings. We recommend no more than 10,000 +/- some depending on the server. But 36,000 listings is far more than we support. So issues related to a much higher number of products than we recommend cannot be supported by us.

    Kind regards,
    John

    OK will give that ago

BTW 36000 variations, when its t-shirts is only 500 listings. 5 sizes and 13 colours = 72 variations per product.

I think that maybe this should be able to handle at least as many if not more (certainly the paid for version)

    Cheers

    Hey @albertramsbottom

Sorry, but each variation counts as a listing. So 500 variable listings that total 36000 variations counts as 36,000 listings.

The limit is not so much due to WP-Lister, but rather the WordPress/WC environment. We are limited as to what we can do/the number of products we can handle because we are not running our own optimized stacks like Magento or Bigcommerce do.

    Kind regards,
    John

    @albertramsbottom

Do you solved the problem? We have 60.000 products and also an big server magine:
It’s an dedicated managed server with 8 CPU cores and 12GB RAM + Varnish Cache.
Our WooCommerce is super fast. But i have no idea about wp lister. Is that working with this large amount of products?

Yes, we set it to do 500 in batches and have a new server, which is dual core with 8GB Ram dedicated and it works fine now. You might want to experiment with PHP timeouts, Max_input times, at 30000 etc

With your server, it will work in batches of 1000 easy

    Cheers
