Assign Product to more than one Category/ Subcategory

Unfortunately, a product can only be assigned to one category/subcategory.

If you are using the premium version of this plugin, you can use custom fields to solve this issue. Create a new checkbox type custom field, and then make the input values what would be your categories or subcategories.

Yes, i run the premium Version. I want a specific Sub-Category to be shown in two Categorys. Is ist possible to control this with a Custom Field?

You can use custom fields to solve this issue.

For example, in this catalog I have 4 products that either belong to the “cars” or “bikes” category. I also wanted to categorize them by colour, so I created a custom field of check box type with input values “blue” and “red”. From there, I updated every product by assigning them a colour.

So for example the product “Speedy 2” now belongs to the “bikes” and “blue” category.

thanks for your response. The problem is, that i use the Category Overview Mode ( Categories and Sub-Categories). I thibk i cant display a product in more then one Category in this overview. Or am i wrong?

A product can only be assigned to one category or sub-category. As you have the “Catalog Overview Mode” enabled, make sure when you add a product you also assign it to the respective category or sub-category so that once you click on the category, it will take you to the list of products assigned under that category or sub-category. That said, catalog overview mode doesn’t display custom fields. As an alternate solution, you can create custom fields or tags and then assign your products to more than one of these custom fields or tags. You can use the custom fields or tags to filter your products from the sidebar. However, keep in mind that custom fields and tags are not displayed under catalogue overview mode. We will discuss the viability of implementing something like this in the future.
