What happens if I import and overwrite?

    Whats the correct / best way to move a website and overwrite the old one?

    The client have their website on a webbhotell and I want to move the new website to that webbhotell. ( I have made multiple different backups of the old website). Should I delete all the files and database and transfer everything manually, or can I just import the new website over the old one?

    If so, what exactly happens when I do that? Does the old files and database get removed or does it keep the database and remove the tables?

    Hi,

    You can just import the backup to your new site and UpdraftPlus will overwrite everything from the current install.
