Problem Changing Icons

I’m trying to change the icons in this screenshot https://www.dropbox.com/s/jhfdwouopdxwt5i/Screenshot%202019-03-10%2014.47.31.png?dl=0. I go to Customize/widgets and I’m able to change them (see https://www.dropbox.com/s/pmu0h2idkdeh9v0/Screenshot%202019-03-10%2014.50.11.png?dl=0), but when I click Publish the change doesn’t take. Also, I get the message on the left that says “Your theme has 5 widget areas, but this particular page doesn’t display them. You can navigate to other pages on your site while using the Customizer to view and edit the widgets displayed on those pages.” But it gives me no idea how to actually DO that.
