The attributes we use on our variable products aren’t associated with any particular gallery image. For instance, we might have an attribute of size, yet the four pictures in the gallery are just different angles of the product and have nothing to do with size. So it’s kind of annoying and confusing when a size selection causes the image in the gallery to roll to the next one.

Is there any way to prevent this behavior?

  • Hello @nfgnikkie,

It is possible to associate a specific image to each variation in that variation’s settings. If you navigate to a variable product edit screen, click the Variations tab, then open a single variation. From there you should be able to add a specific image for that variation. Please let me know how this works out for you.

    Thanks!

Yes, you can add a specific image to a variation. It just isn’t clear how it’s done. Once inside editing a variation you’ll see the checkboxes Enabled, Downloadable, etc. There is an icon above the Enabled checkbox. If you mouse over it provides a tip saying “Upload an Image.” Click that icon and you should be in business.

Just click on the image placeholder within the variation to add an image to that variation.
