• I set up a blog for a friend at https://www.happycapitalism.com who isn’t very tech savvy. When he receives email questions, he copies and pastes them into his posts. Unfortunately DIV, SPAN and other tags get included, screwing up the formatting thanks to improperly closed DIV tags.

I can’t for the life of me get the guy to simply work in HTML mode instead of Visual.

Is there a plug-in that strips out HTML when pasting into the visual editor?

  • Don’t know of a plugin but you could try to persuade him to post formatted into NotePad first. It might help strengthen your case if you point out that when people paste Word formatting directly into WordPress, it has been known to stop their home pages from working in IE. Period.

Esmi, thanks, I appreciate the idea but unless it’s something he doesn’t have to think about, it ain’t gonna happen.

In that vein, I used a great plug-in that reminds you to choose a category before hitting publish.

I just wish there was also one for tags! <grin>
