Cannot set up login as permalink

    Hello

    I am trying to create page with a permalink “login” (picture 1) . If I save my page with this permalink “login” the page is not been found (picture 2). But if I edit the permalink for example as “login1” the page is published properly (picture 3). And working okay.

    I need to make the permalink of the page as “login”. How to correct that. I dont have any other page with the same permalink.

    I am using “Webcraftic Hide login page” for wordpress login so it should not contradict with wordpress login.

    Beside i have aother wordpress website which is using login as permalink for one of the page.

    Hello bashabi,

    Maybe the permalink you are trying to use is already been used in past and then removed so it is not working.

    Another possibility is Plugin that is already using that Slug.

    Try once by deactivating the plugin and see if it helps.

    Is there a way to check if that permalink has been used before or not? I am new in wordpress so not much familiar with the framework.

    Are you suggesting to deactivating this plugin “Webcraftic Hide login page” and this is this plugin using that slug?

    Not sure if we can check that until we search that manually in the database in wp_posts table.

    Yes, I am suggesting to deactivate the plugin once to check.

    Please take a backup of your site before performing such actions.

    Hi Kartik

    Before installing this “Webcraftic Hide login page” plugin that link (website/login) used to take me to the wordpress login path. (“login” used to redirect as “wp-login.php”)

    But after installing that i have changed the worpress login path into something else.

    I am pretty sure it will do the same thing if I disable that plugin. Can this be the issue. If so how to resolve it

    Just give it a try rest you might need to consider speaking to a developer for this.

    Thanks for your reply.

    I have tried disabling the plugin . the “login” permalink redirects to wordpress login.

    at this moment we dont have plan to employ any external developer. I have little bit of basic php knowledge. So may have to stretch my coding skill to solve this issue. If I can get help from this forum thats great.

    I have found this link about the similar type (although not exactly the same) issue.

    But this link is 5 years old. I am using latest version of wordpress. So bit confusd is that solution still relavant.
