    Hi There,

I have been building a ‘demo’ site for some time, and we will soon be transferring our business domain over to this site once complete (hopefully soon!). As it currently stands, our feed is set up with its respective feed URL, but I am wondering if the [URL] slug will remain the same once we transfer our domain over (a request per our marketing team). If there is a change, no problem, but just wondering if a domain transfer will have any effect in this regard.

    Thanks!

    Rob Delaney

  • Hi Rob,

Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out. When you are moving the plugin to another domain the domain name of your website will change in the landing page and image links obviously.

    All the best

    Hi Eva,

Great, thanks! Just wanted to ensure the slug would remain the same to let our marketing team know. Thanks again!

    Hi Eva,

On the same topic: when transferring to our new site (which will commence Monday around 6PM ET), could you say how long it would take until the product feed to the merchant center? Looking to get the actual feed approved with Google as soon as it is sent to the merchant center.

    Thanks again!

    Rob

    Hi Rob,

I am going to assume that the URL of the feed itself is going to change as you will be running it from another site and possibly also the content of the feed when you change domain name.

It means you will have to change the feed location in Google’s merchant center where it needs to retrieve your feed from and set a scheduled retrieval interval from within the merchant center. Also hit the manual fetch and reprocess button to force Google into retrieving your new file and process its content.

The approval of the products in it can take anywhere from 1 hour to a couple of days. That really is up to Google unfortunately.

    All the best
    Eva
