I have just installed Scriptless Social Sharing on my blog. Now I want to ask about Pinning specific images. Is there anyway I can install a Pinterest button on each image, so the reader can select the image to pin?

Also, can I make the Pinterest image something other that the featured image which is being pulled right now?

    Thank you,
    Cathy

Pinning specific images requires Pinterest’s JavaScript, so that’s not a feature in this plugin. I think there are plugin options which do that specific task, though.

You can definitely customize the Pinterest image for each post. This post has a nice write up about it (look for the “Assign a Pinterest Image and Turn Off Buttons” heading towards the end).

Thank you for your help. I have assigned the Pinterest image for a couple of posts, and I notice that my hashtags are not showing up. Is there anyway around this?

If you are comfortable using FTP to replace a plugin file, I have added a change which may allow hashtags to be passed on to Pinterest. I’ve tested it locally and it seems to be working, but if you are willing/able to try it as well, that would be helpful.

It is the includes/buttons/class-scriptlesssocialsharing-button-pinterest.php file (new version on Github). You would just need to download that one file and replace the existing copy on your site. (Please make sure files are backed up, etc. please.)

Oh, that’s wonderful! I’ll wait until I have a tech expert handy before I try it though. Thanks so much!
