Redirect loop

    Hi

    I just updated the plugin.
    As soon as I did that, the WP install is stuck in a redirect loop, even for pages like home which are not concerned by redirection plugin.

    What would be your advice ?

    I’m not sure I follow. You updated the plugin and then you installed WordPress? Can you give an example of a redirect loop?

    No, I just updated the plugin, and every page of the WP is stuck in a redirect loop redirecting to itself.

    Can you give me an example URL? Do you have the ‘force https’ option enabled?

    Well it’s on https://www.recette-americaine.com, but I deactivated it since I have hundred of visitors each hour.

    Yes, I have force https option enabled.

    Ok, then this probably isn’t related to the update, and is because of the ‘force https’ option.

    Some other people have also experienced this problem and I have been unable to reproduce it or obtain access to a site where it is happening. I think it is caused by caching software, but the problem always disappears when I look.

    If you just want to stop it then you can disable the ‘force https’ option. If it’s possible for me to see the problem in action in order to debug it then please contact me at https://redirection.me/contact/

    I discovered a problem with the ‘force https’ option whereby WordPress would auto-redirect to the admin URL. This is fixed in 4.1, with a beta available here:

    Hi John

    I’m sorry, but as it is a sensible site from an SEO point of view, I deleted the plugin and added every rule in .htaccess, so I can’t test your new version.

    I hope it fixes this bug for other people though.
