The images seem to be working now, even the one you linked to above.

Are you using any sort of download or hotlink protection for your files? If so, that may interfere with our image CDN’s ability to retrieve the original images.

Using VPN to the US everything seems to work fine but I’m in Europe. Trying to browse via Germany, Netherlands or Spain I am still receiving the “We cannot complete this request, remote server returned an unexpected status code (400)” error.

There are also errors in the console of my browser:
[Error] Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 400 () (IMG_4007.jpg, line 0) https://i0.wp.com/toest.bg/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/IMG_4007.jpg?fit=1200%2C801&ssl=1&resize=350%2C200

I forgot to answer… No. I’m not using any sort of download or hotlink protection.

Thanks for clarifying! With the help of my colleagues, we’re able to confirm this.

Do you have any Geo-blocking in place for this site? What happens when you remove the VPN to the US? Do the images still load?

    Thread Starter Yovko Lambrev

    (@yovko)

No. There is no any geo-blocking in place. But I’ll double check this with my hosting provider and will write again.

Without VPN to the US some images are not loading (usually featured images in the Related posts section of Jetpack). I’m temporarily removing now this component from my pages because of this.

    (@yovko)

Btw, I can’t load this URL https://i1.wp.com/toest.bg/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Toest-editorial-01.jpg?zoom=2&resize=249%2C249&ssl=1 directly from my laptop/browser also if I don’t have VPN to the US enabled. And I’m still receiving the error 400 without VPN. So it can’t be related to geo-blocking from my server I believe.

    Hi there,

This may be happening because our European servers can’t get the images fast enough from your hosting provider. Can you please check with your host if there’s something they can do about it on their end?

    Thread Starter Yovko Lambrev

    (@yovko)

    Hello,

I have this problem on 3 different servers (@ 2 different countries) so far. It may be related to the reasons mentioned above but the problem is relatively new and it is connected with the CDN service in Europe. I can not waste more time to investigate. Deactivated Jetpack CDN for the moment. Additional problem is that Jetpack galleries and Jetpack related posts components are still using CDN URLs.

Yesterday the evening I inserted here a detailed reply confirming I have the same problem and inserting some sample URLs, what happened to it?

Thanks @fstat , but I have the same problem of @yovko. Server seems to be Ok, i0 on wp.com works well and the CDN serves images correctly, but I have much problems with i1 and i2. Problem never happened before, it only occurs in recent weeks, at the moment I have deactivated Jetpack’s CDN and I can see images correctly.

    Thanks.
    Giovanni.

Hm, that’s odd. The next time you see the problem, would you please run a traceroute to i1.wp.com and i2.wp.com?

It looks like you (or your hosting provider) is blocking some Photon IPs which is causing some requests to fail and return a 400 error as a result.

As an example, I can see from our side that 195.234.109.64 is blocked but 195.234.109.4 is not.

If you have additional questions or need more info it’s probably best to contact our support via https://jetpack.com/contact-support/ to sort out the problem.

ОК – thanks! I’ll check again with my hosting provider(s).
