My Jetpack Blog Subscription widget shows 65 subscribers. But when I go to Jetpack->Settings->Discussions and click on “Show followers,” it takes me to wp.com and then shows only no “follower” and two “email followers” (but only shows one name).

Where do I find the list of the 65 followers the widget tells me I have? I know there are more than that one follower. My wife received notification of my latest post and she is not on that list that Jetpack shows me.

    Thanks.

  • Hi @wperic,

The Blog Subscriptions Widget total includes followers on social media accounts if you are connected with Publicize (which you are):

    https://jetpack.com/support/subscriptions/

Those people are listed as followers because they will see post links shared on that social media service. That’s why there is a difference between what you are seeing in your account vs the 65 listed there.

it takes me to wp.com and then shows only no “follower” and two “email followers” (but only shows one name).

It looks like the subscription numbers between your account and our system didn’t match but I’ve made a change on our end which should have resolved that issue. Can you double check whether you are still seeing two email followers but only one name? I’m now seeing one follower/name.

Just one name there, now. Thanks.

You explanation of the ’65’ makes sense, but it doesn’t explain why my wife got an email notification (from [email protected]) if she’s not on the email list.

Since the latest post was password protected and not meant for general access, I had turned off the various Publicize links. It was when my wife got the email notification that realized I had to do something with the email notifications too, if I didn’t want people trying to access the protected post. When I began trying to figure that out I became confused by the 65 followers. So I’m still wondering who else, if anyone, got notifications by email besides my wife and the one email follower I see.

    Thanks.

    Hi @wperic,

it doesn’t explain why my wife got an email notification (from [email protected]) if she’s not on the email list.

This is something we will be happy to look at once we know your wife’s email address. Please do not share that information on these public forums, you can contact us using this form instead:

    https://jetpack.com/contact-support/?rel=support

We can then take a closer look at why she received an email.

That contact page is not working. The “form” says to log in with my WP.com acct. I do so and get taken back to the contact page, but the form still says I’m not logged in. If I go to WordPress.com, it shows me logged in and takes me right to my wp.com page.

    wperic –

Does the form work in a different browser? What happens when you clear the cache in the current browser?

    Let me know. Thanks!

Seemed to work in Firefox. Even after clearing cache in Safari it didn’t work. I’ll send the message now in Firefox.

Great, I’m glad to hear it worked there ?? I’ll mention this login issue to our developers so they can take a closer look.

Did the message I sent to the support link come through? I haven’t heard anything back.

    Thanks.

It definitely should have by now. Do you recall when you sent it, and the first bit of the email address you used (before the @ part, please don’t post the full email address here)?

I sent it the day of the previous exchange here, the 20th–had to go to Firefox since the link wasn’t work on Safari. It pertained to lynnunderwood. I had mentioned similar problems coming to me (ebever) from her website.

I notice I never did get a confirmation of the submission.

I wasn’t able to find tickets along those lines. Could you try submitting once more?

Noting Safari is likely blocking third party cookies if it says you’re logged out after you just logged in.
