Enabling Custom Redirect URL

    Hi

    Maybe I am misunderstanding how “Enable Custom Redirect URL” works. My intent is to use it in two ways…

    1. If a user logs in or is logged in and load the login page, redirect them to the restricted member area/page
    2. If a user is not logged in and they try to access restricted content/pages, redirect them to the login page

    On the respective pages, login and restricted content page, I’ve set the following but it doesn’t redirect..

    Type of restriction: Redirect
    Display for: Logged in Users (set for the login page to redirect to the member area)
    Enable Custom Redirect URL: (checked)
    Custom Redirect URL: (added the URL the page should redirect to)

    I don’t know if I’m doing this wrong or if redirection wasn’t intended to work this way. Any help is appreciated!

    Hello,

    The Redirect URL option allows you to define a page that users should be redirected to if they don’t have access to the content they were trying to view. It can be set by going to Paid Member Subscriptions -> Settings -> Content Restriction. The Custom Redirect URL allows you to set a redirect that is only applied to the post that is currently being edited. These two options are not simultaneously active.

    None of these redirects will affect users that can view the content.

    Hi Paul

    Thank you for the reply. I had set up what you described, but I did it in the Content Restriction meta box on the page I have restricted content. I figured out what I did wrong, I had not selected a “Display For” under the “Display Options”. :/ It works as intended now.
