    Hi,

I’ve set up this google photos album to show a relatively small size photo (700px). But users can still right-click and view the full size photo.

Is there any way to stop that, and also hide the share buttons?

    Thanks!

    Shortcode: [gallery type='google' view='photos' album_id='(the real one is in there)' title_position='none' main_size='700' layout='random']

This is not intended to be offered via Photonic, because from a purely technical point any person who can access your page can download an image on it (disabling a right-click merely makes the process a few seconds longer).

If you still would like to stop this behaviour you will either need to add a separate plugin (there are quite a few out there that offer such capability), or switch your lightbox to “Fancybox 3”, which has a setting for this. Note that any such plugin will still say that such capability doesn’t offer protection (e.g. search for “right-click” here: https://fancyapps.com/fancybox/3/docs/#options).

and also hide the share buttons?

This you can do via Photonic → Settings → Lightboxes → Common → Social media integration.

    Thank you.

I am fine with them downloading the 700px image I am displaying – what I don’t want them to be able to do is go to get the full size image from google photos, which appears to be possible with a right-click and “open image in new tab”.

I enabled fancybox, thank you for that.

The gallery loads very very slowly though. I measure the time it takes for the thumbnails to appear in minutes rather thanseconds, though I can force it by hitting the “stop loading” browser button.

Can I change a setting to speed that up somehow?

    Thanks again.

Can you provide me with a link, please?

Photonic deals with 2 sizes – the thumbnail (or the tile) that is shown on your page, and the full image that is shown in your lightbox. If you are displaying a 700px image within the lightbox, there is no way that right-clicking it will lead to the full image.

Regardless, there is no plan to disable right-clicking in Photonic because of the reasons I mentioned in my previous post. Even if you are displaying a 700px image in the lightbox, it is easy for a user to get the full image using the “Inspect” feature that most browsers offer.

This has nothing to do with Fancybox at the moment – for me the page loaded at almost the same speed as the previous Swipebox script.

The reason for the sluggishness is that your settings seem to be reversed. You have a “Main image size” (i.e. the image that opens up in the lightbox) set to 700px, but your “Tile size” (i.e. the image that loads up when you load the page) set to 1600px. Naturally ~60 heavy photos are getting downloaded on page load. You might want to set your “Tile size” to something like 400 or 500 – that will make the page significantly faster.

I’m good with the right-click disabled in Fancybox 3.

I didn’t set a tile size in my shortcode and all the tile sizes I see in settings are set to 200.

Am i looking in the wrong place?

ETA: Nevermind I had left tile size blank. I set it to 250 and all is well.

    Thank you!

When you are building out the shortcode (assuming you are using the Add / Edit Photonic Gallery button), you will see it in the screen after you have selected your layout.

All good now – thank you very much for your help!

5-starring this plugin including support ??
