Hi! Currently, the gift card amount gets deducted from the subtotal. I was wondering if it is somehow possible for us to switch this around so that the gift card gets deducted from the total instead. The reason for this is that our invoices, which are generated from aren’t correct according to the tax office if it is done this way.

Hi, when redeeming a gift card it gets applied to the Total after shipping, taxes, etc. It works essentially like “cash” for the payment method.

If you are seeing it only apply to the Subtotal then it sounds like a conflict with another plugin.

Hi! Thanks for the reply. Is this reflected in the cart and the order confirmation? What I mean is, what is the order in the cart and order confirmation supposed to look like? In our shop it’s the following order:

    Subtotal
    Shipping
    -Gift card
    Amount to be paid
    Tax

Is this as intended or is it supposed to be more like this?:
    subtotal
    shipping
    tax
    total
    -gift card
    amount to be paid

Because if another plugin is interefering, the cart order is how I could test it. Thanks!

It will show on the Cart / Checkout like this:

    Subtotal
    Shipping
    Tax
    -Gift Card
Total (aka, the remaining amount to be paid)

On the Order page it will be:
    Subtotal
    Shipping
    Tax
Payment Method (PayPal, Cash on Delivery, etc)
    -Gift Card
Total (aka, the remaining amount that was paid with the aforementioned Payment Method)
