I have a link which shows up as broken.

    403 forbidden

It shows up as multiple locations but when I try to unlink it, delete it or change it, ap I get a word press message that the link could not be modified and there is “Nothing to Update”three times.

The link is a Clickbank link to a wedding dress site.

I can not find this link anywhere on my site.

    Any ideas appreciated.

Carefully follow this guide. When you’re done, you may want to implement some (if not all) of the recommended security measures and start backing up your site.

Thanks for your time James. I have wordfence and comodo security on my site. I don’t think this is a hack because it points to an old clickbank affiliate link which seems to be redirected to the wedding dress site. Neither wordfence or Comodo identify any intrusion on my site. However, I can not find on which pages the link exists. This does not show up on my broken link page. Thanks for your help.

Do you recall adding the affiliate link at any time yourself?

Many years ago I used clickbank but I removed all the products. This link has my clickbank username but it does not look familiar. The broken link plugin shows the link but not on which page it exists.

Ah, ok. Then I recommend just searching the Posts and Pages section of your Dashboard for that username string. It will find any with that in their content.

If you don’t find it there, I’d do the same in the Comments section of your Dashboard.

Finally, if it’s not there, I’d check the widgets and then every theme file.

Thanks for your time James. I will settle down with a cuppa and do just that. Cheers.
