• I created a child theme following instructions from this video:

when I went to activate the new child them it appeared as it should on the the Appearance/Themes page, I clicked activate and crashed the site.

at first I got a 500 error, then this one.

Ive tried replacing the style.css and running DEBUG via the wp-config, to no avail.

Is there anyway to reactivate the parent hteme and bring this site back? If not, I will set to rebuilding this dev site for storyweaving.com in a new folder (sigh)

    thanks for your consideration.

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare dara_content_width() (previously declared in /home/storywea/public_html/newsite2019/wp-content/themes/child-dara/functions.php:106) in /home/storywea/public_html/newsite2019/wp-content/themes/dara/functions.php on line 106

    Hi,

Did you happen to back up your site recently? Hopefully if you cannot figure out the source of the issue, you can restore your site from backup.

Since this is most likely a theme related issues, I would access a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory to Dara, your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue.

If that didn’t work, do you still have access too your admin panel? If so, I would try disabling all of your plugins and checking to see if there are compatibility issues by reactivating each plugin individually until you find the one that caused the error. If you currently do not have access to your admin panel, you can deactivate your plugins without dashboard access.

Hope this helps. Let me know what you find.

    Thanks,
