delete from server after upload to dropbox

I just had the same question too, most hosting companies don’t allow backups to be saved on their servers and it’s good practice not to.

Hi,

If you want to delete local backups, you can check “Delete local backup:” option from UpdraftPlus > Settings > Show expert settings.

This will delete the local backups after backups are successfully sent to your remote storage.

I do have that setting checked. Have 2 nonprofit sites using this and it’s not deleting.

interesting. i loaded UpdraftPlus to eight websites last evening. i never went into the ‘expert settings’, yet on a few of my sites, that check box for deleting the server backup was unchecked. i will run another backup and see how it goes, thanks!

what about the log files? how many of those stay on the server? can they be deleated manually after some time with out any issues?

You can delete the log files whenever you like and it won’t harm anything; by default, they are automatically deleted after 40 days.

I’ve the same problem: I upload the backups to Dropbox. But the hosting backup is not delete. I check the button “Delete local backup:”, but don’t work.

I’m having problems with my hosting provider.
