I am not sure what’s happening here but the Captcha image is BLANK! I have the Contact Form 7 plugin installed and it functions properly except for the Really Simple Captcha on this page:

    https://test.usfamilyguide.com/?page_id=11

I have used both of these plugins a TON of times and have made sure the appropriate folders have the proper permissions and still can’t get image to appear. The image is there but it’s completely blank!

Has anyone gone through this before or have any thoughts? It’s such a weird error. I think it has to do with version 2.8 versus older versions. I have used these 2 plugins together with no problem until now.

    Anyone???

    Cheers,

    Mark

No one has had a BLANK image show up?? There’s nothing I can do? I’ve dug through the Plugin code and nothing jumps out at me. Why would this work in WP 2.7 and not in 2.8??

    Anyone?

Same problem – same WP version.

    Trying to work out why………………..

    Eddie

I’ve heard about issues like this, but I don’t have a clue about the cause for now. I guess the problem exists in PHP, not in WordPress nor in the plugin.

    still no luck with this.

The image path is correct and so are the permissions – but no image is being created…. weird.

Yeah that’s where I’m at too. We are currently running PHP Version 4.4.8 and do you think that would have anything to do with it? I can’t imagine that it would. I remember using this on an older version of PHP and including some header tag to image converters without any hiccups. So strange to me!

Any new ideas on what could be causing this? The wpcf7_captcha folder is writeable (chmod 777) and everything else seems to be in place correctly. The new update to the Contact Form 7 didn’t seem to help either.

I’m now having this issue too. I’m still running WP 2.7.1 but just recently updated the plugin (both captcha and Contact Form 7) to their latest version. So I’m thinking the author has done something in the update for this error to be present.

I have changed the uploads path in WP settings and it works fine.
    You should try it.

Anyone else resolve this issue? I’ve having the same problem, I’ve double checked all permissions are correct, the appropriate upload folder is there, my form syntax matches, gd and freetype are installed, everything seems to be created correctly but the captcha image won’t show. The one difference I have is that I’m running WPMU 2.8.4a but I can’t see how that would make a difference. Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Help?

I am having the same problem with captcha not viewable. I have verified that GD libraries are Installed & freetype support is enabled. The captcha file is write enabled. Still, no captcha. Any ideas?

    Hi,

I had a similar problem to the one described here.

I solved it by manually deleting the ‘wpcf7_captcha’ folder on my server in the wp-content/uploads folder and recreating it myself with the same name.

This apparently changed the ‘owner’ of the folder from apache to my ftp login username and then the images appeared as expected.

Hopefully of some use to those having problems.
