.htaccess constantly being renamed

We’ve removed the plugin after gaining control of a wordpress website for a client yet are constantly seeing .htaccess being renamed (thus breaking the navigation on their website)

I’ve seen This post and looked for reach individual file how-ever no path is given & the only one I ended up finding was the ‘installer-backup.php’ in the public_html directory.

Any assistance in resolving this issue would be appreciated.
