Upgraded and now won’t show excerpts on home page

I upgraded both the Atahualpa theme and WordPress to the newest versions with seemingly no problems except:
I have “ONLY EXCERPTS” on home page chosen with 0 full posts and yet it is ONLY showing full posts on the home page.
It was working fine until the upgrade.
