Now suddenly the plugin has stopped working, I’d request the developer check the plugin, it seems something has gone wrong.

I just re-tested on latest WP and the plugin is working normally. It could be that something is interfering, like another plugin or maybe the theme. My best advice is to do some basic troubleshooting to determine the cause of the issue. Let me know if I can provide any info about the plugin, glad to help.

Thanks very much for replying, I checked by deactivating all the plugins except wp super cache, but that did not solve the problem.

Please note that the problem is happening only for the new post edits, not for the previously published posts.

The plugin was working good just a few days ago.

I even checked my functions.php for any codes I might have inserted recently, and I couldn’t find any.

“I checked by deactivating all the plugins except wp super cache”

Proper troubleshooting requires completely checking all plugins and the theme. If you are unable to test on a live site, set up a quick 5-minute install and then you can install USP and see how it works normally. Then build your site back up one plugin at a time, testing between each, etc. Until the culprit is found.

You also need to check your theme, by temporarily switching to the WP default theme. Otherwise, there is no way to determine the source/cause of the issue.

You could also create a staging site, so you do not have to troubleshoot on the live site, look for a plugin called WP Staging, for easily being able to create a staging site.

Thanks @lukefiretoss, I will surely try that, but at the moment I can carry on with the situation since the problem occurs only when the “Save Draft” is pressed. So perhaps I can finalize the draft on some other platform and then quickly publish it in WordPress,…once published it never reverts to Gutenberg.

@swagatam1975 can you please try to use any default wordpress theme and check whether the issue is still there? Also please try to deactivate wp super cache plugin and remove the cache then check the issue.

I am happy to inform everybody that the issue has been identified by me. It was happening because I was trying to save a post without a title. So if you try to save a draft without a title then it will revert to Gutenberg, however if the post is drafted with a title this issue will simply not occur!

@swagatam1975 Thank you, will test this and investigate further for the next plugin update. Definitely sounds like a bug!

@specialk OK, thank you very much!

Thank you for this thread. I was having the exact same problem and the solution fixed my problem, also.

    Same issue.
I’m waiting for a new update.
    Cheer.

Just to follow up with this, the “title-less post” issue is resolved as of DG version 1.7. Should be available within the next week or so. Thanks to all for the great feedback.
