• Hi,

I’m new to the forum and fairly new to WordPress and by no means an expert.

I’ve checked other posts on the forum and the header query posts don’t seem to be the same subject of my particular problem.

I’ve uploaded an image for my header and on the home page it displays fine (I’ve put this URL in the box ‘Link to the page you need help with’), but on all other pages the image is obscured. It’s as if the page has been moved up over the image.

Does anyone know if this can be rectified to effectively pull the page down to reveal the header image?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • I see the same thing. Seems like the vertical size on all but the home page is just a narrow strip at the top. It’s not really a solution but I installed a plugin called Unique Headers. That allows you to at least put a different image on other pages. You can crop or size an image for that strip so it at least makes sense to look at.

You can see though how the narrow strip makes some sense. As it is not a background image, if you put the full size image on content pages, it would push all your content down below the header image.

There are other deficiencies I have found in this theme: no page sidebar for widgets, no way to control text colors/fonts, custom color doesn’t seem to work. Its probably a bunch of work to change schemes but I have been thinking about doing that. Some things you can fix with plugins.

I have only been WordPressing for two weeks, but I have done 4 different sites to one degree or another and other themes do have more control. It is hard to tell from the theme description what features they have or don’t have. Seems that you just have to try them which is time consuming.

    Thanks, @rhodesengr

I’ll check out the plugin you mentioned.

I tried the Sixteen theme, it looked fine, but it omitted the header images altogether, so worse still. I’m trying to keep the header image as it’s the same as my logo.
