Update Error when Updating, Yet Update Works (multiple plugins)

    Hi,

    It appears that the site is encountering an error when the update is attempted, but the actual error is being masked by a security plugin or server module.

    In these cases, the security plugin/module replaces the actual error with a 404 not found error page (for security purposes).
    I would recommend asking your server admin/hosts if ‘mod_security’ is active for this site.

    Please could you also ask them to check the PHP error logs? These logs should have a record of the actual error that is occurring.

    I’ll check with the host. Further testing, though, may have to wait until those plugins release their next updates.
