Permalink Special Chars

There are various plugins that do this for ISO-8859-1 and UTF-8. 1.3 has some character decomposition built in. It’s incomplete, at the moment, but will be finished before 1.3 is released. Look at the remove_accents function in functions-formatting.php.

I would like to know if you’re refering to the $curl = preg_replace strings?
It looks like they could do the trick, but does it work with permalinks as well?
