• I have a godaddy domain name that points to a siteground hosting account.

I had wordpress installed and everything was working.

But I decided to change my domain name to one that my dad was using, who has it on his own godaddy account.

So I deleted wordpress off my website, and took the godaddy domain name that I was using off my website.

Then my dad pointed his godaddy domain name tomy siteground hosting account.

I then installed wordpress, but nothing shows up and I get a 403 error when I try to login with admin.

Also when I visit the site by typing in its url, it converts to the IP address of the siteground host.

Please how do I fix this fast

  • I’m happy to help. Firstly, if the domain name changed, make sure you updated your home and site URL in the database. Make sure to rename the caching folder if you use any caching plugins to something like cache.bak.

403 errors are generally permissions errors.

Can you provide the URL for which you are experiencing this issue? I will be happy to take a look. Also, if you provide the URL it will be helpful to diagnose any potential DNS issues if they exist.
