    Hello,
We use inline Easy FancyBox for our call-to-action “Request More Information” on several places on each page on our site.
After the most recent update to Easy FancyBox, website users began telling us that when they clicked the Request More Information button, nothing happened. A contact form should have popped up (Gravity form) for them to fill out.
We switched the Minify settings for the site from Auto to Manual and it seemed to help, but this is only a temporary solution since it slows down the site speed.
Any insights into what may be causing the inline Easy FancyBox to suddenly stop responding when the link to it is clicked?
    Thank you!

  • Hi, did you upgrade from 1.8.9 to 1.8.10 (latest version) or did you upgrade from 1.8.8 or earlier version?

    Thanks for your reply.

    We upgraded from version 1.8.9.

    Thank you!

That is strange then. The script file in 1.8.9 is the same as in 1.8.10 so there is no reason it should suddenly break in minification after the upgrade.

Could you try allowing it to be included in minification again? Please note that the plugin script (and css) files are already minified so if there is an option for concatination (without minification) then best to use that.

Nope, I’m afraid we cannot allow it to be included in the minification again, since that broke the contact form, and generating sales leads via the contact form is primary purpose of the website.

Here is what we came up with as a solution:
In W3 Total Cache, under Minify, add these files to “Never Minify the following JS files”:
    wp-content/plugins/easy-fancybox/js/jquery.fancybox.1.3.23.min.js
    wp-content/plugins/easy-fancybox/js/jquery.easing.1.4.1.min.js

This resulted in a slight performance hit because the files are no longer combined (concatenated) but it’s slight enough to live with.

So – not clear on the cause of the problem – but we’re going to roll with this solution.

Thank you again for your help.
