Apparently 5.0.8 was supposed to fix the memcache warning bug, but it introduced it to my site after updating. This update also greatly slowed the response time of my site, so I disabled the plugin for now. The site operates are expected speeds with the plugin disabled now.

  • I have the same issue now. There is also an SG notification that the Memcache is disabled.

same problem, before I did not receive the warning is now present.

Contacted siteground support, which they told me: I also checked server side and it is a bug of the SG Optimizer because the Memcached is properly activated, it could even be a conflict with a plugin and the new version

    Hello,

I don’t see an update to 5.0.9, so upon reactivation the plugin exhibits the same issues as stated in this thread.

    Hi,

    We’ve patched the 5.0.8

Please uninstall and install the plugin again.

    Regards,
    Stanimir

@sstoqnov already done, siteground technicians (italy) have done what you said to do but the problem remains, they said that it is a bug

I’m just waiting for the inevitable 5.0.9 update at this point. This plugin, while awesome, has been revised many times over since the 5.0 update, these incremental changes are becoming untrustworthy.

The issue is not related in any way with the plugin functionality, but a mere notification. As adviced, remove the plugin, install it anew and everything will be good to go. Sorry for the inconvenience caused!

I can only report what I experienced. With the plugin activated at 5.0.8, the site would respond much slower than usual and had the notice error which it didn’t before. With the plugin deactivated, the site speed returned to normal. The site was fine at 5.0.7. I know not all sites are the same, but I can tell you in my case, the site functions better with it disabled at 5.0.8. It’s a night and day experience with it enabled and disabled at this version, so that is why I think there may be deeper issues than the notice. Just my opinion.

The delete and re-install seems to have worked, may want to let other users know that they have to fully delete it for the patch to come in unless your pumping down 5.0.9.

Have you been using memcached before? Unfortunately, not all plugins play well with object caching and in some setups such malfunction can cause delays. It’s perfectly OK to keep memcached off for your site if it performs better without it.

Since day one after signing up with SG. Like I said the full delete and reinstall seems to have corrected the response time issues. Thank you.

    Glad everything is OK now!

    Hristo,

Is there any way to stop this bug without having to uninstall and reinstall the plugin? I have 20 sites, I would need to do this for.

    Kind regards,

    Simon
