My mom has a blog (https://bedehuset.org/). The only thing she ever does is write posts. I do all the technical stuff. A few days ago the blog just went belly up for no reason what so ever…

I haven’t been in there for a long time. And it worked fine a few days after her last post.

As you all can see if you press the link it’s complaining about “Error establishing a database connection”. I’ve checked the wp-config-php and it’s alright according to what I’ve set up as the username and pwd in the database. I’ve even restored to an older backup of the same file, but without any luck.

I checked the Admin panel over at Dreamhost where the site is being hosted and the subdomain for the database did come up (https://mysql.bedehuset.org) so I’m guessing it works. But I don’t know for sure since I don’t know how to check…

So what’s wrong? Can anyone help me? My mom’s calling me every third hours so please, for the love of God, help me!

PS: I’ve also tried a restore to a backup that was 19 hours old, but without any luck.

your wp_options table has crashed in the db
run a repair on it with phpmyadmin

Sorry, but I’m no database expert. How do I do that? And why have this happened?

    in your host’s control panel
click on mysql or phpmyadmin icon/link
after logging in to php my admin
    checkmark table to repair
choose “repair” from drop down at bottom

No worries. It turned out that it was Dreamhost’s error. They’d been moving stuff around and forgot some shit…

    All good now ??
