• I’ve been using the Gutenberg plugin on one of my “fun” (that is, noncritical) sites.

I don’t know if I should deactivate the Gutenberg plugin before upgrading the WordPress 5.O. If I don’t, will I have dueling Gutenbergs?

Tonight I upgraded to WordPress 5.0 and my Gutenberg plugin was automatically deactivated.

Create a backup of your database + files before upgrading
Test on a staging site if possible.

Thanks, Lisa! I was hoping it was something like that!

I’m all about backups, but I’ll take a chance on upgrading my fun site to see what happens. I’ll be more circumspect on my clients’ sites!
