deleted s3 files by accident, tried reuploaded wp upload folder but..

  • Hey guys I really messed myself up, I run multisite and cleaned out the wrong s3 bucket. All the files are now gone, the bucket is still there tho. I tried reuploading all the contents from uploads/sites folders back to s3 but the subfolders are all different then how it was before. Is there amyway to do this without having to buy the PRO version and reupload everything? thanks

    The “amazonS3_info” records in your postmeta table will tell you the expected subfolder names, you might be able to script something up that gets you a similar folder structure using that data that you could then upload to the bucket.

    Otherwise I’d recommend grabbing a WP Offload Media license so you can make use of the tool for offloading existing media. I expect support could guide you through the process of deleting the old postmeta “amazonS3_info” records so that WP Offload Media effectively forgets it ever offloaded anything and then you could re-offload your Media Library. ??
