PDF

Hi,

Good day and thanks for using SuperPWA. Upon PWA the files will get opened like how it open over the mobile browser. If the website is set to open the PDF over new page, the same will happen over the PWA too.

In future, more options for handling this will be added to our plugin.

I also found that chrome pdf viewer shows blank screen when clicking on pdf link.

This happens when using PWA or Chrome to view pdf file. If the superpwa plugin is deactivated, the pdf links work correctly, or you can delete the Service worker cookie, which also corrects the issue temporarily.

As an aside but maybe it is related, there was a similar issue with an earlier version of Chrome but this was rectified when Chrome was updated.

So this maybe an issue with PWA rather than superpwa, or maybe it’s a complex caching issue tracing back to when Chrome had the problem???

Good day to you. There exists sone issue with the service worker for viewing PDF files over some browser’s. As generally, some files are hosted outside the scope of the domain, the WebView of the link may become a white screen as due to some redirections over some Browser’s.

Could you please share the website URL, so that we can have a look over it and confirm the same.

yes will do, when I can, I deactivated plugin, but I’m setting up a test page on another site, although having additional problems generating service worker and manifest file with the 2.0 version, so have to resolve that first, before testing the pdf link.
