• Hi,

I have a small problem with multisite. When someone register on my network, it will be add to main blog as well (I can check it in Network Dashboard – Sites/All sites). I would like to prevent it.

    How can I do that?

    Thank you!

Your main blog is also the entire network as far as users are concerned. When one registers, it is for the entire network, thus your main blog is part of it. Whether users can register at all is also managed network wide. It may make more sense for your blog to be an added blog instead of the main blog if you don’t want new registrations to be associated with it.

It would be possible to alter what blogs a user is associated with once they have been inserted by hooking the “user_register” action. Their roles and capabilities for each blog are all saved in user meta, these can be altered with custom code.

This issue is only existing since new WordPress version. I’m not sure which one, but I noticed it on v4.9.8. So in the past it didn’t add any user to main site.

Something is changed in core files, but I don’t know what exactly.

There is another topic in this issue:
