    Hi all!

Just wondering if anyone has had any issues with applying a shipping class to a product?

I have created my shipping class, but when I go into the product settings, choose the appropriate class, then save/update changes, the product just reverts back to No Shipping Class.

Have tried in Quick edit, regular product edit, deleted and re-created shipping classes…

    Any suggestions welcome ??

    Thanks!
    Jon

    Hey there,

I was able to test this on my test site – saving the shipping class on the product worked well.

If you can check the console for errors on saving, that might give you a hint as to what’s going wrong:
    https://developers.google.com/web/tools/chrome-devtools/console/

Otherwise — this kind of problem is usually caused by either a conflict with your theme or with another plugin.
    ?
The best way to determine this is to:
    ?

    • temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
    • disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    • repeat the action that is causing the problem

If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

    Hi @fernashes,

Thanks so much for your reply ??

I did the conflict test and still no luck.

When I check the console while trying to save the new shipping class in Quick Edit, I do see an error:

[Error] Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found) (jquery.form.min.js.map, line 0)

I’ll look into this a bit more, but does that indicate anything to you?

    Thanks!

    Hey there,

Thanks for sharing that error! It’s related to permissions issues, by the look of it:
    https://www.kickstartcommerce.com/fix-wordpress-failed-load-resource-404-status-error.html

That could very well have something to do with changes not being saved.

    Hi @fernashes,

Thanks so much for suggesting this solution.

I’ve just checked my permissions and it was already on 755… I tried 777 to change the shipping class but no luck again.

I really appreciate your help so far!

At this point, I’m mostly just searching on Google, as it’s quite a generic error and not really related to WooCommerce. Here’s something that looks like it could solve your problem:
