Login Related Issue

    Hi guys,

    So I was having Login Related issues covered in this post:

    Login is successful but when you go to a protected page, it prompts you to login again.

    I am using your ‘Simple Membership After Login Redirection’ to redirect Silver members to a particular page. That works. But, when they click on Home, the Log in / Log out state in the navigation bar says Login.

    If the user refreshes the home page, it correctly then shows Logout.

    If I deactivate ‘Simple Membership After Login Redirection’, the problem goes away.

    I have gone through the check lists in the post Common Reasons for Member Login Related Issues and all clear on that end.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

    Is the member login in, also a member of the protected page?

    If the user refreshes the home page, it correctly then shows Logout.

    Do you have a cache plugin installed in your site? If you do, have you exempted the login page from getting cached?

    If I deactivate ‘Simple Membership After Login Redirection’, the problem goes away.

    So you are saying that it works with SMP only if the ‘Simple Membership After Login Redirection’ plugin is deactivated? Do you have the latest version installed?

    Yes, the member is a member of that page.

    No, there is no cache at this site.

    Yes, I do have the latest version installed – Version: v1.3

    Hi, can you deactivate all your other plugins. Leave SMP and ‘Simple Membership After Login Redirection’ plugin active. Then enable debug mode, carry out a test. Afterwards can you check the log file and report back.

    I will not de-bug on your behalf on a ‘live’ site.
    Besides, I have already tried that and identified Simple Membership After Login Redirection as the culprit.

    Another 5 days … still no reply.

    Meanwhile, my client used a bulk action to revert all Gold members to Silver – New Year – fees due.

    Guess what that did? It not only reverted Gold back to Silver, it stripped the site admins of admin credentials (roles). Had to do some SQL magic to get that back for them, you know, so they could actually log into their sites?

    Really nice Simple Membership!

    Any comments from the Developers would be welcome – and now long overdue!
