“Add Child Link” behavior
-
It would be nice if “Add Child Link” behaved the same as “Add Child Page” in a generic WordPress sort of way.
After much testing, the default WP “Navigation Menu” widget seems to be the only option where added “Child Links” will display. And this methodology is simply unfeasible for very large sites with 100s of pages… because the WP “Navigation Menu” is all or nothing.
When you use other widgets, such as WP’s default “Pages”… or one of my favorites: “BE Sub Pages” (for section-specific menus)… Child Links do NOT display in the menu despite appearing in Nested Pages as if they were a page.
In essence, I’d like Child Links to behave like a regular page from WPs point of view. Because other menu widgets for PAGES are ignoring those child links.
Make sense?
(My current work-around is to create a regular page as a placeholder, then using another plugin, I redirect that place-holder page to the external link.)
