Title text showing on black band although not selected

Same issue as jennyrrr – see below.

I have just updated and now the Title Text is showing on a black band at the bottom of the slider although I have not selected to show this in SEO. This happens after switching to FlexSlider. NevoSlider does not show text.

Sorry for the inconvenience, we should have an update out tomorrow that fixes this.

It’s an issue with NivoSlider, and a temp fix for now would be to use FlexSlider until the next update.

Thank you for your prompt response – I will await the update or may change to Flexslider in the meantime.

I temporarily fixed the issue of the black band and image name, by going to the slider images, clicking the image…it takes you to the Word Press image gallery, and simply remove the image name. Then it solves the problem, but probably isn’t good for your SEO by having an image with no title.

That is correct. Actually I updated to a recent version of NivoSlider and didn’t realize that it targeted the caption by checking the title. So you can either remove the title, or you can switch to FlexSlider.

I created a special fork for NivoSlider and just merged in a fix. Now it’s in testing and will be released as soon as that’s completed. Hopefully in just a few hours.

11/21/2018 – just updated to version 3.10.2 this morning and titles within MetaSlider show as intended & no black band at bottom. NivoSlider fixed.
