    Hi,

Can you can tell is there any option or way to show the podcast in the correct order. The order needs to be reversed. Currently it looks it is showing the podcast episodes in wrong order like it is showing 4th one first then 3rd one and so on. The correct order should be like 1st then 2nd and so on.

Although if you check this link. Here it is showing the podcast in the correct order but that is the blog list. In the above link we are using your plugin shortcode [powerpress_playlist category=”2″] which is not displaying the episodes in correct order.

    Hello @sameernxb,

Sorry no one responded sooner, we monitor the forums but apparently this one fell through the cracks.

Podcasts by default order episodes with the latest episode first. For most all podcast directories and applications there is no way to circumvent this. The exception is the Apple podcasts app, but every detail must be set correctly for re-ordering to work. There are two ways to do it:

    1. Use the Episode Order tag (old method). I will not go into detail as this is no longer in favor with Apple Podcasts.

    2. Use the Podcast Type: Serial (instead of the default episodic). USing the serial type means you are producing a podcast that requires listening from the beginning of a season. Note this option requires you for each episode to do the following: set a season number (start with 1) then an episode number (start with one for each season). If you do not plan on using seasons, always use 1 for your season number.

To enable the type, go to PowerPress settings > Apple tab. for Setting “iTunes Type” or “Type”, select “serial”. Select “Episodes” tab, about 1/2 way down Select “Show Field” next to “iTunes Episode Number, Season and Type Fields”. Now scroll to the bottom and click “Save changes”.

Once you have this enabled, you will need to go back and edit each episode, check the box to modify the podcast information, then proceed to fill in the season and episode number. Every episode needs to be specified otherwise Apple will revert to using the date with latest episode first.

    Thanks,
    Angelo
